Śravaṇam (Hearing) is not an imagination it is the only way one can understand god and all other processes will be revealed through the process of hearing. Pramāṇaṁ (Standard) is must for knowledge we accumulate through Śravaṇam which is the basis for knowledge of reality.

Kīrtanam (Chanting) is not mere repetition. Science, philosophy and knowledge behind the names attributed to the God are proven to be the purifying power derived from the utilization of appropriate sounds to remove obstacles in the path of devotion and knowledge.
